This post is 5-days per week from 08:45 - 15:20. There will also be opportunity to work as an MTA at lunchtimes and to work in our Breakfast/Twilight clubs. Visits to the school are encouraged. Pre-School Playworker
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and creative individual to join our team at Little Popples Pre-School. We are open to candidates who are qualified at a minimum of level 2. We are also open to those looking to take a qualification or currently in the process of gaining their qualification. The successful person will have an affinity to working with children in the EYFS. You must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to use your initiative and natural aptitude to deliver an excellent experience for our children and families. Duties include working alongside existing staff members to deliver the EYFS curriculum and engage with and motivate the children. The post is part time, working 3 days per week (term time only in the first instance) 8:45am-3:15pm with opportunity for further hours to cover staff absence/increase in children attending. In the future, we envisage expanding our offering. This will include the possibility of increasing working hours both in terms of hours and weeks of the year (we would hold discussion around this at interview). Newton Poppleford Primary School are looking for a caring Mealtime Play Assistant (MTPA) who can lead play, interact with the children and undertake the responsibility of supervising and ensuring the safety of the children at all times. You will be required to work for one hour per day (12:15 – 13:15) Monday to Friday (days negotiable if more than one candidate wishes to share the role).
The main duties of the role are:
- To set up and lead play activities in the playground;
- To co-ordinate play for pupils;
- To assist with the well-being of pupils during lunchtime;
- To support the supervision of children during lunch and play, using your initiative to ensure caring quality provision is continuously made.
Experience of working with children is not essential, just the passion to help improve the life chances of children within a school environment whilst being prepared to work inside and outside in all weathers.
